Made to architectural drawings

Bespoke timber slats for project specifications

Architectural slat walls, screens and timber feature packages developed around the project rather than a fixed catalogue size. Slat Studio coordinates specialist manufacture, samples and UK delivery, with professional installation available for commercial interiors.

Beyond standard profiles

Accoya, real oak, timber veneer, custom dimensions, backing panels, end returns, fire-retardant treatment options and complex interfaces can all be reviewed against the architect's specification.

Material options

Specify the material, profile and finish

Every bespoke package is priced against the actual drawings, quantities, finish requirements and supporting construction. Samples are used where colour, grain or coating appearance is critical.

01 / ACCOYA

Accoya Slat Walls

Accoya timber can be machined into bespoke slat profiles and coordinated with Accoya or compatible backing and end-panel constructions. Stained finishes, including oak-toned finishes, are developed through physical sampling before manufacture.

02 / REAL TIMBER

Oak & Timber Slats

Solid timber and real timber veneer options can be considered in oak, ash, walnut and other species according to design intent, budget, stability and finish requirements.

03 / ENGINEERED

Real Veneer Systems

Stable engineered cores with genuine timber veneer can provide a consistent architectural finish for slats and divider profiles where solid timber is not required by the specification.

04 / CUSTOM

Custom Profiles

Widths, depths, spacing and edge details can be manufactured to suit the elevation rather than being limited to our standard 29×40mm Premium 3D profile.

Bespoke detailing

More than a row of slats

Commercial feature walls often involve interfaces that need to be coordinated as part of the timber package. We review these at quotation and pre-production stages.

Backing panels & end returns

Stained timber, Accoya, multi-layer or engineered backing constructions can be reviewed to suit the architectural intent, build-up and budget.

Concealed-door coordination

Where the timber pattern continues across a door leaf, slat alignment, clearances, weight, fixing zones and finish interfaces are coordinated with the doorset design. The doorset itself can remain by others.

Shadow gaps & lighting interfaces

Timber detailing can incorporate formed shadow gaps and interfaces for inset lighting channels or diffusers. LED strips, drivers, wiring and electrical commissioning are normally treated separately unless specifically included.

Modular manufacture

Large walls can be developed into labelled transportable modules or component sets, subject to the selected manufacturer's construction method and site access constraints.

Fire performance

Fire-retardant options for commercial projects

Where a project calls for fire performance, we can review compatible fire-retardant coatings, treatments and substrate options with the specialist manufacturer. The proposed system and available supporting documentation are then submitted against the project requirement.

RequirementReviewed project by project
DocumentationManufacturer / treatment data where available
ApprovalSubject to project design-team requirements
Fire performance depends on the complete specified construction and treatment system. Slat Studio does not apply a blanket fire rating to every timber slat product; classification or performance claims are made only where supported by the relevant project documentation.

Screens & dividers

Open-format timber room dividers

Floor-to-ceiling slatted screens can be developed for offices, hospitality, reception areas and commercial interiors where visual separation is required without creating a solid wall.

Custom spacing

Slat centres and profile sizes can be set around the required transparency, elevation and overall opening width.

Four-sided finish

For open screens, real veneer or timber finishes can be specified on all visible faces rather than treating the product as one-sided wall cladding.

Floor & ceiling interfaces

Fixing principles are developed around the substrate, ceiling construction and design intent, including concealed or minimal-detail solutions where practical.

Supply or installation

Packages can be priced for supply to the contractor or with installation by Slat Studio across London and the South East, with wider UK projects reviewed individually.
